Terms of use

LapKeeper is an iPhone lap timer for track days, with public pages at lapkeeper.com. These terms are the rules for using both. LapKeeper is run by Shawn Poindexter. Questions go to support@lapkeeper.com.

In short

• You're responsible for what you post.
• There's no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive drivers. When a report is upheld, the content is removed, and the account suspended or deleted, within 24 hours of the report.
• Lap times are for fun and information, not for competition. Never time or race on public roads.
• You can delete your account in the app whenever you like.

Who can use LapKeeper

You must be 13 or older to use LapKeeper. By signing in, and by agreeing when the app asks before your first post, you agree to these terms and say you've read the privacy policy, which says what LapKeeper collects and why.

What you post

You're responsible for everything you post, share or put on your profile: posts and replies, shared sessions, photos, your display name and username, your cars and their modifications, and the social media usernames you add. Post only what you have the right to share.

It stays yours. You give LapKeeper permission to store it, and to show it to the people you share it with, in the app and at lapkeeper.com, for as long as it's on LapKeeper.

No objectionable content or abusive behavior

LapKeeper has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive drivers. Don't post, share or send:

• harassment or bullying
• hate: slurs, or attacks on people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age
• threats of violence, or urging anyone to harm themselves
• sexual content
• spam or scams
• impersonation of another person, or of LapKeeper
• anything illegal

LapKeeper refuses some words outright. Anything else can be reported from its menu in the app. When a report is upheld, the content is removed, and the account that posted it is suspended or deleted, within 24 hours of the report. A suspended account can't post, and its page is hidden.

Lap times, tracks and safety

Lap times, sessions and tracks on LapKeeper are for fun and information. LapKeeper isn't a timing system for competition, and its times aren't official: GPS can be off, on a phone or on a device.

Safety on track is yours and the track's. Follow the track's rules and its staff, and don't handle your phone while you drive.

Public roads

Never use LapKeeper to time or race on public roads. Use it on tracks and closed courses, at events that allow it.

Your account

You can delete your account in the app's Settings, under Account. Tracks you made public stay public, looked after by LapKeeper, as the privacy policy says. LapKeeper may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms.

LapKeeper as it is

LapKeeper is provided as it is, without warranties, as far as the law allows. It may change, pause or stop, and LapKeeper isn't liable for losses from using it, as far as the law allows.

Changes

When these terms change, this page and its date change too. We'll tell you in the app about changes that matter, and the app may ask you to agree again.
